Action sports apparel brand O’Neill has signed a deal with Olympic medal swimmer Natalie Coughlin to head a marketing campaign supporting the launch of its active apparel collection, O’Neill 365, scheduled to hit retail in Spring 2012, targets women “who demand both style and performance from workout apparel.”
Financial terms were not disclosed. Coughlin will serve as the face of the collection, and will be featured in the brand’s national ad campaigns and in-store collateral. She will also promote the launch at various events across the country as part of the O’Neill 365 Icons program, “established to recognize inspiring females who are influencers in their community and embody the vibrant spirit of the brand,” according to the company.
Coughlin is the most decorated female swimmer in World Championships history, and is one of the most decorated American female athletes in Olympic history. She currently is targeting the 2012 Summer Games in London.
